How to Make beer: part 2
Â
2. ingredients  we go over that in part one.
3. cooking equipment, a spoon preferably metal or plastic not wood, a thermometer, a strainer or grain bag or cheese cloth, and a few pots the bigger the better. Â
4. sanitizer preferably something maid for brewing like something from Five Star ,in my opinion they make the best stuff. We will go other sanitization more next time.
5. a carboy seen in the picture above. All it is a glass, plastic, metal or wood, air tight container. Home use is normally 5 or 6 gallons.
6. an airlock or fermentation lock .
7. syphon hose and a racking cane. I will go over that when we talk about racking and bottling.
8. bottles, bottle caps and a capper. These are not needed if you are going to use a keg, but in that case you need a keg instead.
Â
This is just a basic bare bones list. There is more equipment out there. You should be able to get the job done with the stuff on this list . I might go over some other equipment it the future. most of it is designed to make the job easer or to save time.
Next time I will go over the importance of sanitation and maybe get into the beginning process of making beer.
