Sierra Nevada and I go way back. Spending a good portion of my life in central California, I known Sierra Nevada  for a long time. When ever I have a craving for a pail ale Sierra Nevada usually hits the spot. The BigFoot ale barley wine style is a very heavy ale.  I think Michael Jackson […]

When I was in collage I had a friend from Prague. He use to tell me how good the beer was back home. That was about fifteen years ago, and I don’t remember the brands of beer he use to mention. I was in Trader Joe’s the other day and I saw a lager from the Czech […]

Pete’s Wicked Ale.This ones been around for years. It was on special at the store, along with Pete’s Strawberry Blonde. Naturally, I decided to try both. The name is enticing, at least I thought it was 15 years ago. Back then sounded so Grunge, and was a nice alternative to Budwiser and all the rest of the mass […]

Well I was out doing yard work all day. Afterward I decided to reward myself with Wychwood Brewery Fiddler’s Elbow. It is a nice refreshing ale for a summer weekend afternoon. I really enjoyed this beer, I think I will probably get it again, and reward myself again. I guess this will conclude my trilogy of Wychwood Breweryales. […]

Wychwood Brewery Scarecrow, I liked Hobgoblin so much I decided to try some of Wychwood Brewery’s other beers. Scarecrow is an organic Golden Pale Ale. To tell you the truth, I didn’t find anything special about this beer, it was just ok. I like pale ales and I liked this one, but nothing stood out about it.

Wychwood Brewery , named after the Wychwood forest in England. The embossed witches circling around the top of the pint bottle caught my eye, and my interest. My hope was that I’d found an old world brew, reminiscent of witches brewing potions  in a deep dark forest. Hobgoblin is a dark English Ale. This is my favorite […]

One place I like to buy beer is Trader Joe’s. They have a great selection and their prices are some of the most reasonable around. Trader Joe’s is a specialty store featuring their own brands as well as others. One of their products is beer. There Vintage Ale is a very good dinner beer. It goes well […]

[ad#demo-advert] When ever I travel, I always like to stop in at the local breweries.  Today I revisited one of the first breweries I ever went to, St Stan’s in Modesto, CA. St Stan’s gave me the appreciation of beer I have today. I tried their  Amber ALT  back in my early twenties, it was […]
