Beer Expeditions

When ever I travel, I always like to stop in at the local breweries.  Today I revisited one of the first breweries I ever went to, St Stan’s in Modesto, CA.

St Stan’s gave me the appreciation of beer I have today. I tried their  Amber ALT  back in my early twenties, it was the first beer I tried that I actually liked.

 One of my fondest memories is having lunch at St. Stan’s  with my Grandmother. We used to share a pitcher, and she would tell me stories about her grandfather who made beer.

Today Kate and I shared a pitcher, It was better than I remembered. If you are ever in Modesto you have to stop by. Currently they do not bottle beer . I talked to my friend  Bill Coffee, the brew-master. He told me they will be bottling again soon, and I have a feeling I will be making another trip again soon too.
