Beer Expeditions

When I was in collage I had a friend from Prague. He use to tell me how good the beer was back home. That was about fifteen years ago, and I don’t remember the brands of beer he use to mention. I was in Trader Joe’s the other day and I saw a lager from the Czech Republic called BrouCzech. I wondered if this was one of  the beers Peiter used to talk about .The label said  hoppy and malty aroma, I thought that sounded pretty tasty.After tasting it I was kind of disappointed . It wasn’t bad, it just tasted like any run of the mill ,mass produced beer. Light and lacking flavor. Hoppy and malty aroma? No I did not smell any hops or malt. Over all I think my expectation was greater than the result. I think I would have liked it more  had I not built it up so much in my head so much.It made me think about Peiter, and wonder why he went home……..
